FREE PRINTABLE INSPIRATIONAL WALL ART – LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED
If you’ve been reading for a while you’ll know that my word of the year for 2017 is LOVE. If you’re not familiar with the ‘word of the year’ concept, here’s a little recap.
A few years ago I discovered ‘Word of the Year’ which is a new way of planning for the year ahead and a super alternative to traditional new year resolutions. Research shows that 88% of people fail at their resolutions. They just don’t work. What does work is choosing a word of the year and keeping it in mind throughout the year. It’s a super simple but very effective concept that I’ve followed for the past two years. It’s truly made a huge difference to my life.
I began thinking about my 2017 word a few weeks before the end of 2016. For a long time I thought it was going to be Freedom. But something was holding me back from committing to it so I started searching for other words. Faith, courage and grace were contenders for a while but didn’t feel right either. Then LOVE just kind of popped into my head. I dismissed it initially as I thought it was too easy. Who doesn’t want love in their lives right? I already have plenty of love in my life but sometimes I feel like I need to give more love. Do everything with love. Lead with love. Create with love. Give with love. I once read that everything we do is either out of love or fear. Well this year I decided to choose love!
Seeing as we’re now a quarter of the way through the year, I thought I’d do a quick update on how I’m getting on with my word of the year.
Well in short, I’m choosing love more and more. More inportantly I’m more aware of when I’m not choosing love but I should be. This usually happens when one of my children is trying my patience. Before, it would have escalated into a pointless arguement because my ego wanted to ‘win’. Now I choose love and we agree to forget about whatever we were arguing about and have a big hug instead. Don’t get me wrong this doesn’t happen all the time. I’m human and always learning and growing. Sometimes my ego does take over and I say things I don’t mean. And so do my kids. But we always apologise and forgive each other.
I’ve found that what comes with choosing love is more compassion and more peace. To me is seems that love is the root is happiness.
Which brings me nicely onto this week’s free printable inspirational quote wall art! These words ‘Love is all you need’ were floating around in my head all day yesterday so of course I had to make them into a beautiful wall art print for you. Download it, print it, frame it and display it somewhere you’ll see it every day as a reminder to choose love in everything you do.
